Editor will edit story assignments from writers. They will check for grammar, structure, spelling and sources

Editor will discuss art with designer for the story. If art is provided or if art needs to be created or stock art can be used.

Provide feedback to the writer, if needed. Check any sources or if they need to get more details.

The managing editor will do a second read on the story and provide any other feedback before turning story to designer.

Designer reads story and receives art for story to create design.

Editor and designer work together on layout. The designer provides a layout and editor provides feedback.

Editor creates a skeleton of the magazine layout, which includes all stories and ads, special supplements, etc. The editor will inform designers of the skeleton so they can finalize their design pages.

Designers complete their designs to be placed on the magazine book layout.

Each story layout is reviewed by the editor and managing editor. They make their corrections to the stories, adjust photo captions, headlines, as needed.

After editors have made their final corrections throughout the week, production staff has placed all ads and everything edited, double checked. Editor will approve of all pages to be sent to upload to printer.
