Community College Population
In the first module, I learned the characteristics of community college students, including special populations and changing demographics as they relate to the need to create and maintain environments that demonstrate equity and mutual respect for diversity. Animoto We also used Animoto to create 30-second introduction about ourselves. -
MCCCD History
In this module, I learned about the history of MCCCD.
Also, we were introduced to TimeToast, a great way to display information. -
The College Campus
In this lesson, I learned about the different campuses and services at each campus. More importantly, the support that is offered for our students, like Admissions, Advisement, Career Center, Counseling, Disability Services, Financial Aid, and others.
This week we created Glogs using Glogster. Glogs can be used by instructors and students to present information. Also they can be used as an assessment tool and can replace vision boards and poster boards. -
Accreditation
Department of Education AccreditationIn this module, I learned the goal of accreditation. The Maricopa Community Colleges are each accredited separately through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
In this weeks eTech challenge, I learned about a program called Popplet to create a mindmap. -
Outcomes and Syllabi
The Maricopa Community College has a website that has all of the courses offered at the 10 colleges and 2 skills centers as well as program information. You can find the curriculum website here: http://www.maricopa.edu/academic/ccta/
We also learned how to create a syllabi for our courses.
In the eTech challenge, we used a program called VoiceThread. This is a great way to hold a discussion and users can respond in several different ways. -

In this lesson, we learned about the copyright laws and how to legally share images.
