    Rasputin was thought to be a very spiritual priest, because he magically healed sick people. Tsar Nicholas 2nd called all the doctors he could but none could cure his only male heir's serious wound. While his heir was not long away from death, due to loss of blood, Nicholas' last hope was to call Rasputin. Rasputin cured his son using only his words, but as Nicholas really needed him by his side, but Rasputin was there on one condition: power.
    He was murdered, due to a lot of hatred.

    1917 is 3 years since the world war started and Russia declared war on Germany. The photo shows roughly what sides there were, mainly the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance. The photo isn't really accurate as this is a cartoon picture drawn in 1914.

    Silvertown Explosion-England
    It is hardly known now, but the Silvertown explosion was one of the most worst explosion London has seen. It wasn't an intended terrorist attack, but a problem at the munition factory (an explosion). It killed 69 people instantly, 300 injured and a further 4, who were in critical states, but unfortunately died. A fire spread for miles damaging 60-70,000 properties and costing a huge amount of £2,500,000, which would cost around £162,500,000.

    Retreating 25 miles!
    Germany started to retreat back 25 miles to New Hindernberg Line, on there way back. The German Army had 2,500,000 troops on the knobbly trenches on Frances throat, but they were forced to release, when the French and English Army confronted them, better-equipped, Germany had only one choice to flee to a firmer, more secure area 25 miles behind. The very next year the British and Australian army broke the form, devised into 2 attacks, which broke the stronghold of Germany.

    It started on February 23rd, when the Russians used the Julian Calendar, but today we would have called it March 8th. It was a start to oppose the Tsar Nicholas 2nd's rule. 2 days later, while the 200,000 peaceful protesters were marching in Petrograd, today's St. Peterborough, were shot at by soldiers under the Tsar's command. Food is also critically low in the city and the Tsar has already commanded a food rationing.

    Nicholas resigned as the tsar of Russia along with his son on march the 2nd. But on the very next day Mikhail refused to take the throne, which formed the provisional government, which had formed within the duma to overthrow Nicholas.

    Vladimir Lenin
    Vladimir Lenin was sent back after being exiled to Germany, he was sent via a sealed train. Germany knew of course that Lenin was going to corrupt Russia in no time. He made the concept of the Bolsheviks, which dominated the country making the mensheviks and the provisional government, which was the government that the tsar created after he dissolved the duma (Russian parliament, which was the very first government established to rule Russia).

    The president of America Woodrow Wilson became was elected as prime minister in 1916, because of his campaign slogan "He kept us out of the War!". They couldn't just watch and stare in dismay, and there were many views on the war form immigrants from Europe, who had German ancestry. Sure enough they entered the war naturally on the side with Britain, as Germany fearfully thought they would. A month later the promising John F Kennedy was born, to become a leader.

    As Kerensky, was an equally bad leader, he sent a massive Russian military force to go attack the Austro-Hungarian in WW1, but lost horrifically with 400,000 casualties. This has happened before when Nicholas 2nd ruled, he went to the front lines of battle and was defeated, a third of the army was rifle less.

    Alexander Fyodorovich Kerensky became the prime minister of the provisional government. He was overthrown on the 7th November and for the rest of his life, was exiled to Paris and New York. He died at the age of 89 in NYC and was buried in Putney Vale Cemetery, although his nationality was Russian and lived a wealthy life, as a lawyer and politician, who would have the money and rights to be buried in Russia.

    The king George V ended the royal family's name from the long difficult German name Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, to Windsor, because of all the hatred they had for Germany at that time had worsened. In the picture shows George V with his family the day they changed their names.

    The Romanovs final generation, which was Nicholas and his family, were hiding in Winter Palace. But as the never-ending bolsheviks carried on taking over Petrograd, they came to lie in front of the Palace that the provisional government had take.n refuge in. After Nicholas was taken away they didn't execute him, well not until the summer 1918, before then he was put under a lot of toil

    The Bolsheviks Red Guard took of Moscow in November, after a hard week of bitter battle. The Bolsheviks Red guard factory workers, peasant, some soldiers from the army. The men on strike were protesting, when the soldiers open fired. The next day, the soldiers could handle no more with the innocent men and women and their horrified children. They were well distinguished with red ribbons tied on the barrel of their rifles.
