Makes sure all handicapped children have free education & that that education is designed to meet their own special needs. -
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, or IDEA
Took the place of The Education for All Handicapped Children Act. Emphasis on early childhood intervention for children with exceptionalities & their families. -
Individuals with Disabvilities Education Act ro IDEA
Public Law changed from just interveining for children to providing funds for children with handicaps and their families "from birth on." -
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992
All people, no matter race, gender, religion, color, origin, including people with disabilities, have equal rights to education. -
Section 504 of the Rehabilitaton Act of 1973
People with disabilities could not be denied to participation in activities or programs because of their disability only. -
