Importance... If we didn't have it, federal agencies would be able to participate in illegal surveillance of individuals & governments - would be able to instantly access any information about an idividual via computers -

Garantees an establishment is free of drugs if it is recieving a contract or grant from a federal agency
Importance... If we didn't have it, buisnesses would be able to have a grant or contract even if they have employees & employers that use an unlawful drug regularly -
Employee Polygraph Protection Act

Prevents employers from using polygraph tests, either for per-employment screening or during the course of employment, with certain exemptions
Importance... keeps employers from violating your rights & keeps you from losing your job due to a faulty lie detector test -
Family & Medical Leave Act
The FMLA entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family & medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms & conditions as if the employee had not taken leave- created by the federal government
it is important for the development of children & the family unit that fathers and mothers be able to participate in early childrearing & the care of family members who have serious health conditions
