This act placed a tax on tea, which was a popular commodity in the Colonies. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of colonists dressed as Native Amaericans had dumped tons of tea into the Boston harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
These were a number of acts that allowed British solders to stay in colonist's homes, it shut down Boston's Harbor, and Boston was ruled by martial law. -
1st Continental Congress
This was called in responce to the Intolerable acts, and was attened by 56 members appointed by the legislatures of the 13 colonies. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
These Battles were the first military engagements of the Revolutionary War. This is where the 'Shot around the World' was heard. -
2nd Continental Congress
This meeting of the congress managed the colonial war effort and eventually led to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. -
Publishing of Common Sense
Written by Thomas Paine at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, and was signed "Written by an Englishman."
