Amniotic fluid starts to drain out of the uterus. -
Contractions get closer
The contractions become
more intense and they will happen more frequently. -
Transition
Contractions start to push the baby down. -
After Birth
The placenta is delivered -
Dilated cervix
The cervix dilates to 10 cm. -
episiotomy
If needed a OBGYN will cut the opening of the vagina to make the delivery easier -
Crowning
The mother will begin to push as the baby's head is crowning. -
The delivery
The baby comes out and if needed forceps will be used. -
Umbilical cord is clamped
Normally the dad would be asked to cut the umbilical cord off of the baby. -
APGAR test
After the baby is placed on the mothers chest it goes through the APGAR test
