Kublai Khan was born
Kublai Khan was born in 1215 and was conseived by his mother, Sorghaghtani Beki. Kublai learned to ride horses at a very young age and his first toy was a boy and arrow. He used his bow and arrow to hunt rabbits. This helped him prepare for his military training later in life. (Dramer 25) -

Kublai suceeded at the Great Hunt
Kublai Khan suceeded at the Great Hunt by killing a Hare. Kublai presented the kill to the Great Khan to prove himself at successfully taking the first step toward becoming a mongol warrior at 9 years old. The Great Khan did this by doing a ritual of Kublai drinking his own blood and eating the hares meat. (Dramer 20) -

Genghis Khan conquers Beijing
Ganghis Khan, Kublai's grandfather, conquered the city of Beijing in China. H e did so by torching it down. (Dramer 25) -
Jan 1, 1238
Ogodei gives Kublai his first district
Kublai's new district of Hsing-chou had 10,000 households. It was the first domain Kublai ruled. He goverened as an absentee ruler spending most of his time with Ogodei.. Because of this he was not aware of the behavior from the appointed officials that took severly amounts of taxes from the people. Farmers left their lands and when Kublai learned of this he replaced his Mongol officials with locals. Rural people of the area would know better about the agriculture life. (Dramer 28-30) -

Ogodei dies
In 1241, Kublai's uncle, Ogodei, died. -
Jan 1, 1258
Kublai is pronounced the new Great Khan
Kublai and Mangu, the king of the Mongols, set off for China in two armies. Kublai leading one army, Mangu leading the other. The terrain and hot weather made the trip very immoble. During battle Mangu was killed leaving Kublai as the soldiers new successor. The conquest was finished by Kublai, the new Great Khan. (Draper 34) -

Kublai founds the Yuan Dynasty
After officaly proclaiming himself emperor, he founds the Yuan dynasty. The Chinese view him and a Barbarian so he adopts the Chinese habits and customs. One by naming the dynasty a Chinese word, Yuan, meaning "The Origin". And two by letting some Chinese work in the government with a mix of Mongols and foreign's. But he made sure the Mongols had a higher job in the government, just top keep in mind who is in charge. (Burgan33) -

Kublai defeats the Song dynasty
Before the death of Kublai he defeated the Song dynasty. Using clever ways to out smart them he did so. The defeat reunited Northern and Southern China. (Burgan 34) -

Kublai Khan dies
Kublai Khan died leaving his grandson, Temur Oljitu, as the 6th Great Khan. (Burgan 36) -

Yuan dynasty is replaced after the death of Kublai
The Yuan dynasty was replaced by the Ming dynasty, ending Mongol rule in China. (Burgan 120)
