    The Concorde is an Anglo French supersonic airliner that made transatlantic flights from UK and France to North and South America. They were mainly used by BA and Air France between 1976 and 2003. The Concorde is famous for making the fastest transatlantic flight ever taking less than three hours. The Concorde, with its short flight times, was not accessible to everybody as fares were expensive. However, its speed and sleek design allowed people to dream, and inspired them to travel more.

    In 1983 the internet was Invented by two men called Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf. The Internet is a vast network that connects computers all over the world. This proved huge in the travel and tourism industry as they could advertise holidays and flights to people all over the world letting people book them there and then. back in 1983 the internet was not advanced as it is today and it took a while before you could book flights and holidays online. the first flight purchased online was done in 1995

    Ryanair is a Low-cost Irish airline making short haul flights around Europe. They offer cheap flights which accommodate lower incomes. This made flying accessible to more people.

    The Channel Tunnel opened to passengers on 14 November 1994. The channel tunnel is a way for trains to cross from the UK and France and the rest of Europe. The tunnel runs underneath the English Channel it is 31.35 miles long, 75 meters below sea level and takes 35 minutes. The two train companies that use the tunnel are Eurostar and Euro Tunnel le Shuttle.

    The Eurostar is a railway company that runs high speed passenger trains through the tunnel between London, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels The Eurotunnel Le Shuttles is a rail service between Folkstone and Calais. It carries road vehicles and passengers through the tunnel. The Channel Tunnel has made travel between the UK and mainland Europe quicker. This also makes it more convenient for business-people. More people can travel and there is more choice - of car, train, ferry or aeroplane.

    9 11 was a terrorist attack that happened on September the 11th 2001 at 8:45am it was when to planes where highjacked and flown into the world trade centre in New York city killing just under 3000 people this was a major disaster that changed people approach to flying especially for the rest of that year as people where to scared to fly. airports and airlines tightened up their rules and made more thorough security checks. since 9/11 passenger numbers have never been the same.

    In 2010 Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland erupted casing lots of ash to disabused in to the sky. The eruption lasted six days causing lots of flight to be cancelled because if aircraft attempted to fly through the ash they risk the planes engine being damaged. this eruption did not just stop flight to and from Iceland but to other part of the world because a light of flight fly over Iceland to get to other parts of the world.

    Covid-19 is a virus that has spread all across the world causing an alarming number of cases. many people who have the virus especially people who had underlying health condition have died after contracting the virus. because of this a lot of country's decided to ban travellers to try and limit the number of cases and keep the virus under control.
