If Christopher Columbus had not discovered America the Indians would still be living on the land, and we would be somewhere else. Do to his success we are now living in America. -

Amerigo Vespucci got credit for discovering America when it's name was first used in a geography book. If Amerigo didn't give America it's name and didn't dicover it we wouldn't have a country, or a name. -

The Prostestant Reformation
Martin Luther started the Protetant Reformation to let the churches be protestant and not have to be Cathlic. If he hadn't done this we today might not be able to believe what we believe. He let all beliefs have their own churches. -
The Mayflower
The Mayflower was a ship that took the people called the Pilgrims to start a new life. It took them 66 days to cross the ocean. When they got there they knew nothing,so the Native Americans there helped them. If they didn't do this we wouldn't now celebrate Thanksgiving,or speak english. -
The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independance was signed in 1776, it was signed so that the United States would have sertain rights. If they didn't write the Declaration then we wouldn't have the rights that we have today. -
The Constitution Was Written
Before there was the United States of America, Congress had 13 colonies to come to Indepedence Hall. They wanted to draft a document to govern the colonies. The Men worked all summer to draft the Constitution. Gouverneur Morris wrote the Constitution. If he never wrote it, we wouldn't be seperated from any country. -
The Federalist Papers
The Federalist Papers was a document of essays that people wrote trying to perswade the comunity to vote for something. If they didn't write this document then the people may have voted for something else and the course of history would be changed from then on. -
The Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights is a document that statea ten specific rights that we have. This is so we can believe different things, go to different churches, speak our mind, and move when we please. Without the Bill of Rights a lot of our freedoms would be taken away from us. -
Lincoln Frees the Slaves
Lincoln freed the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation. He beleived strongly in setting them free, untill finaly the Proclamation passed. If Lincoln hadn't freed the slaves, there might still be slaves today. -
Lincoln Assasination
Lincoln went to the Ford Theater one night with his family and his friends and he was shot. If he hadnt been shot he would have continued to make presidential decitions and the course of history would be changed.
