Convention of 1832

On February 23, 1836, was the arrival of Santa Anna's army outside San Antonio.Texans prepared to defend the Alamo together. The defenders held out for 13 days against Santa Anna's army.

Santa Anna's army arrived in San Antonio about 23 February 1836. The siege ended on the morning of 6 March when the Mexicans storm the Alamo fortress.

Santa Anna's Seizure of the Mexican Government

On 6 March 1836, at the Battle of the Alamo, Santa Anna's forces killed 189 Texan defenders and later executed more than 342 Texan prisoners. The defeat at the Alamo did help buy time for General Sam Houston and his Texas forces. -
