Ovulation
The release of an egg from an ovary during the menstrual cycle. -
Conception egg
Ovulation must occur and the egg must be "picked up" by the tube. -
Sperm conception
The sperm must be deposited and transported to the site of fertilization. -
Month 1
During the first month of pregnancy the heart and lungs begin to develop, and the arms, legs, brain, spinal cord and nerves begin to form. Will be about the size of a pea. Beginning of 1st trimester. Size is around 6-7mm which is 1/4 inch long -
Month 2
Tiny buds that eventually grow into arms and legs are forming. Fingers, toes, and eyes are also forming in the second month of pregnancy. -
Month 3
Weight: 5.25 ounces
Size: 7 inches
Babies head is formed and the eyes and ears are starting to move. skin is getting more thick and is the size of an avocado .End of 1 trimester -
Month 4
2nd trimester starts, Weight: 11 ounces
Size: 10 inches. baby's fingers and toes are well-defined. Their eyelids, eyebrows, eyelashes, nails, and hair are formed, and teeth and bones are becoming denser. The baby can even suck their thumb, yawn, stretch, and make faces. -
Month 5
Weight: 1.32 pounds
Size: 12.7 inches. fetus develops soft body hair and a greasy coating that helps protect the skin. -
Month 6
Weight: 2.3 pounds
Size: 14.8 inches. baby has fully formed lungs and a unique set of fingerprints, and they're beginning to focus on sounds outside the uterus. They're also moving their eyes beneath their still-closed eyelids and probably having lots of hiccups -
Month 7
End of 2nd trimester and beginning of 3rd, Weight: 3.7 pounds
Size: 16.9 inches. fat begins to be deposited on the baby. The baby's hearing is fully developed and they change position frequently and responds to stimuli, including sound, pain, and light. -
Month 8
Weight: 5.7 pounds
Size: 18.62 inches. continue to mature and develop body fat reserves. You may notice that your baby is kicking more. Baby's brain is developing rapidly at this time, and they can see and hear. -
Month 9
Weight: 7.6 pounds
Size: 20 inches . End of 3rd trimester. baby's lungs are maturing to breathe outside of the womb, their reflexes are more coordinated, and they can blink, turn their head, and grasp. -
Birth
The baby is fully developed and ready for delivery.
