ChalkBoard
When In Kindergarten the use of chalkboards were what the teachers used to teach us the alphabet and many more things. -
Fat Pencils and Paper
When I was in first grade I remember using those fat yellow pencils and thick lined paper to do our assignments. -
Listening Center
The listening center was the best center during second grade. It was the time we got to sit and listen to books while we followed along. Too bad those headphones would hurt your ears. -
Overhead Projector
The Overhead Projector was quite popular in third grade. Mrs. Kunz would teach us many reading lessons projected from there. -
White Boards
By the time I entered middle school every class had whiteboards. -
Desktop Computer
I referred to the computer I learned to type on in seventh grade as a big black box. Not all rooms had computers. -
Laptop
By the time I entered High School Laptops were starting to appear more and more. I did not like to type on them, I still don't. -
ELMO's
The year I started subbing for Clark County Schools, was the year they were introducing ELMO's into the classroom. These replaced the overhead projector. -
SmartBoards
Following the ELMO's was the High Tech Touch Smart Board. Smart Boards would connect to the teacher's laptop and ELMO to project things onto the smart board. -
Tablets/iPads
Not too long after schools incorporated the new technology for the classrooms. Most teachers were now given iPads to use instead of carrying their laptops around for meetings.
