Tennis Court Oath
The third estate wasn't allowed in their usual meeting place at Versailles, so they met at a tennis court. They vowed to not seperate until they made a French Constitution. -
Storming of the Bastille
A crowd of commoners stormed to the prisons of Abbaye. They killed many people, no matter what status. -
Declaration of the Right of Man
The National Assembly said all men are born with the same rights. The constitution will protect and make all men happy. -
March to Versailles
Women were upset over the high price and low supply of bread. They became a mob and marched to the Palace of Versailles. They got the King and French Assembly to go to Paris, and ended the independent authority of the King. -
Louis Trial
Louis was accused of 33 charges. The voting was in favor of his death. -
Robespierre Comes to Power
Robespierre becomes a dictator and brings a lot of fear into France. He was the cause of the Terror, and killed everyone. He became a leader from the Committee for Public Safety. -
The Terror
Robespierre's committee goes after anyone who disagrees with him and kills them. Everyone in France is living in terror. Nobody is safe from the guillotine. Estimated 40000 killed. -
Robespierre killed
Robespierre was arrested by the convention. He tried to kill himself, but failed by shooting his jaw. He was then executed without trial.
