silent movie era in
it was movies with no sounds in them. People loved to watch it which made it a high demand and the first studio was created in New York. Most studios then moved to California.

It was during the 1920's - 1950's and by the 30's, most studios were already in California and had own animation deparment. Some major ones were Warner bros, Disnet Studios, Metro-Goldwin and Universal Studios
