Joseph Stalin- Birth of a Dictator
Joseph Stalin was born in Gori, a village the Georgia province in Russia on December 21st, 1879. He was born to his two parents, Katherine Djugashvili and father, Vissarion Ivanovich Djugashvili. His mother, a 21 year old peasant had previous babies but all of them died. His father was a shoemaker and in his early years he was born into serfdom. Stalin was beaten by his alcoholic father when he was young and took out his anger on the people who he ruled.

Indiana Streets
On March 31 the streets of Wabash, Indiana were first lit by electricity for the first time. Charles Brush wanted to test his idea on the "brush Light" and there was no better place than Wabash. The town became the first fully lit city by electricity. electricity had been invented and used before but never like this before.

Small Pox Epidemic
In 1900 there was an epidemic outbreak in Kentucky that left over hundreds of people sickened by the disease. Authorities said for everyone to get vaccinated and helped. The first successful vaccine was created by Edward Jenner. Over the 4 year span there were over 48,164 cases and 1,528 deaths alone. The small pox was one of the worst diseases ever and killed many people. But, small pox is one of the only diseases to be eradicated.

The assassination of King Carlos of Portugal
King Carlos and his heir were riding through Lisbon, when they were brutally assassinated by revolutionaries. He took over from his father who left the country in tremendous trouble. The people of Portugal were irate by this and led to numerous revolts. King Carlos hired Joan Franco to generate a doctoral government. He thought it would be a good idea to express dictator powers but others say it as betrayal. The people had enough and just assassinated Carlos and his son.

Joseph Stalin- Added To The Party
In 1912, Joseph Stalin was appointed to the Bolshevik Party. Stalin was appointed to the party by Vladimir Lenin then a key leader in Switzerland. He was sent to be the leader of the First Central Committee in the Bolshevik party. He would later take over the Soviet Union following the death of the leader, Vladimir Lenin.

World War I Begins
It all started with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. This assassination sparked the beginning of World War I between the great powers of the world. The countries involved were Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the United States. Against Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire. After the war the United States saw many changes and also left the United States as the world military and industrial leader.

Joseph Stalin- White Forces Defeated
In 1920 Joseph Stalin and his "Red Army" defeated the "White Army" or Anti-Bolshevik party and forced them out of Russia. This left the Bolshevik party in charge in which Stalin would take over later. While the two armies were going against each other this was called the Russian Civil War causing the citizens to choose their own side. This was a horrific event because it would lead to Joseph Stalin having all the power in the government to make the choices.

Before Stalin rose to power after Lenin's death in 1924, he was General Secretary of the Communist Party of thee Union's Central Committee. As leader of the U.S.S.R Stalin ruled as a dictator and was truly a horrible person and even a more horrible leader. During his reign, many people died from his executions and from his plan named "The Great Purge". Stalin hated anyone who had opposing views towards him. Stalin lost his power on the day he died in 1953.

Hitler Appointed
In 1933 Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany. He took over for Hindenburg after many political elections. When they appointed Hitler to Chancellor, they set Germany on the road to World War II. Hitler attempted a genocide called the holocaust in which he tried to execute all Jews in Germany. He will go down as one of the worst dictators of all-time.

Joseph Stalin- The Great Purge
In the mid 1930's Jospeh Stalin and his men instituted The Great Purge in communist Russia. This was a time period whom ever spoke out against the government in anyway, would be executed for their actions. The people were killed by Stalin's secret political police called the NKFD. During this time period there were estimated 1,000 executions per day and in total over 1.5 million people were murdered in a 2 year span. This was a gory time in the U.S.S.R all caused by Stalin himself.

Joseph Stalin- Operation Barbaroosa
On June 22nd 1941, the German party led by Adolf Hitler began its invasion on Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union. The Germans saw the Soviets as a threat to their plan. Also, the German men wanted to expand their empire. Early in the invasion, the Germans won most of the war because of their triumphant army. But during the winter the Germans had not been prepared and suffered for the harsh conditions. The invasion was successful and expanded their empire farther than ever before.

Joseph Stalin- Marshal of the Soviets
On March 6th 1943, Joseph Stalin assumed title of Marshal of the Soviet Union. This was the highest military rank at the time for any Soviet Military man. These men were thought of as the highest of the high and to those who exceeded military expectations. Following the deaths of Stalin and fellow generals the titles were given to the professional soldiers. This high military rank was abolished in 1991 to end any disputes of who should obtain this worthy title.

Berlin Wall Blockade Officially Lifted
The Berlin Wall was a blockade that separated East and West Berlin `which were under the control of two separate countries.The Soviets lifted the blockade because of a U.S.-British air supply to West Berlin. This ended and early crisis in the Cold War. The people of East and West Berlin were disgruntled by the wall and it was about time that they lifted the blockade.

Joseph Stalin- Korean War
In the 1950's Joseph Stalin met with Kim II Sung then leader of North Korea. At this meeting Stalin gave Sung permission to invade South Korea thus sparking the Korean War. Stalin stood beside Sung and aided him with his decision. His influence on Sung caused him to declare war on the southern part of Korea. That is why today, Korea is separated into two, North Korea and South Korea.

On March 5th 1953 Jospeh Stalin lost his power in the government. In the 1950's Stalin's health began to deteriorate and it all went downhill from there. A assassination attempt failed made Stalin get thinking about a new purge. He talked to his generals about the idea and they would execute the plan together. But little did he know... his time was almost up!

Joseph Stalin- The Death of A Dictator
Joseph Stalin died on March 5 1953 of a stroke. He ruled as a dictator and was just a horrible person for the Earth. He was found by a nurse but to no surprise his health had deteriorated in the past weeks. His daughter visited him in the hospital while he was in a coma but days later Joseph died in his hospital bed next to his daughter. Stalin achieved almost all of his goals and lived a very successful life in his mind.
