    During this time, the fear of communism was a struggle to many Americans. This struggle was due to wars in the past and many false accusations. This fear of communism at the time was called the red scare and many government officials could receive any information by any tips and that caused the fear.

  • Malcolm X

    Malcolm X
    On this date, Malcolm X was named a leader of the Nation of Islam after his parole. Malcolm X did a lot as leader and believed in fighting for what he believes in. Unfortunately, he does get murdered after all the great work he put in.

  • Brown v. Board of Education 1954

    Brown v. Board of Education 1954
    A case on the SCOTUS that ruled state laws regarding "separate but equal" in terms of schools is unconstitutional. This is due to after constant years of the colored schoolchildren complaining, which they have all rights to. This is obviously one of the best choices that the SCOTUS has made and is still in place today.

  • Little Rock 9

    Little Rock 9
    Group of nine African Americans students entering a school that enforces segregation of colored people and whites. These students on the first day of arriving were not allowed because the mayor of that town didn't allow them in and blockaded them. Eventually they were allowed in when the government sent troops to direct the students throughout the school.

  • Berlin Wall

    Berlin Wall
    A barrier between East and West Germany with a purpose to divide Berlin physically and ideologically. On the West side, the United States supported the government. On the East side, the Soviet Union and other communist countries supported it due to the government rules and regulations.

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    During these wild thirteen days, the threats and confrontation between the Soviet Union, and Cuba against the United States was at an all time high. This is due to the fact that the Soviet Union had their missiles and explosives placed in Cuba. Also with the Soviet Unions weapons, Cuba was working with them and were being provided with weapons as well.

    On this date in the state of Texas, President JFK was assassinated. This all happened while driving down the street greeting his fellow American citizens by Lee Harvey Oswald. This event was caught live on many recordings and is very unfortunate to the American people.

    After a hard fought war, the United States officialy backs out and lets the South Vietnamese take care of the rest. After nearly two years the South Vietnamese lose control. With that being said, the communist won and is one of the first losses for the American military.

    On this date, Steve Jobs officially "found" the prestigious company apple. The company has had great success to todays date and continues to dominate the technology industry. It has done so well that for many consecutive years, it has been on the top 3 of the highest net worths of companies.
  • McDonalds Massacre

    McDonalds Massacre
    On this infamous date, a mass shooting occurred inside and around a McDonalds restaurant. This all happened in a San Diego, CA neighborhood that ended with 23 deaths total. This is one of the first massacres in a local area such as a restaurant in a prolonged period of time.
  • MLK Day

    MLK Day
    On this date, Martin Luther King day as a whole event was recognized by the American public. This event was celebrated across our country for the first time on this date. To this date, annually our country recognizes, and appreciates all of what MLK did to achieve civil rights.

    On this date, the United States executive branch created a new cabinet by the name of Department of Veteran Affairs. This cabinet offers a wide variety of benefits for our brave veterans that fought for our great country.
