Start of Military
September 17,1790 Jose de San Martin enters the army he started out as a Cadet. For the next 20 years he was officer fighting against Moors in Oran in 1791, also against the British in 1778, and fought against the Portuguese in the battle of the War of the Oranges in 1801. -
Napoleon´s occupation
In 1808 after the occupation of Napoleon's occupation on Spain, and the subsequent patriotic uprising against the French. He served for two years in Seville,Spain that was conducting a war on behalf of French King Ferdinand the seventh. He got promoted to the rank lieutenant. Then he went and fought the battle of Albuera. -
Corps of grenadiers
In 1812 he was given the task of the corps of grenadiers. The Spanish American independences centered in Peru, because they threntend the government during the revolution. In the same year Jose de san Martin was appointed captain. The captain is the ninth military rank. -

September 12, 1812 Jose de San Martin marries María de los Remedios de Escalada. They end up having one kid. Her name was Mercedes Tomasa de San Martín y Escalada. -
Crossing the Andes

Captured Lima
June 2, 1821 Jose de San Martin captured Peru's capital Lima. He was a lieutenant during that war. San Martín first decided to invade Chile. He established an army in Argentina of 5,000 men that crossed the Andes into Chile. In 1818, he successfully liberated Chile. -
Wife dies
September 3 1822 his wife María de los Remedios de Escalada dies. She died at Buenos Aires, Argentina. Jose De San Martin had one kid. -
Death
Jose de San Martin died on August 17, 1850, in France. He died of natural causes. Jose De San Martin died at the age 72.
