Next Generation of Philosophers
John Dewey's first objective in life was to get an education, and as soon as he received his education all he could do was question it. With these questions John wanted to change the flaws in the education system. After receiving a doctorate in philosophy from Johns Hopkins University in 1884 Dewey began teaching himself, creating a philosophy in education changing how the education system viewed students.

Philosophy of Nature
John Dewey was a very outspoken man of his beliefs. Even if it was controversial. John wanted the people around him to not accept that things are the way they are just because. Dewey disagreed with this concept stating that all of nature is subject to change, and that nothing is pure, people should learn from their own experiences and not what they're told. Teaching many to live with change, not to attempt to transcend change. Getting this information out by writing Experience and Nature. -
Natures End
Dewey questioned the end of a human's life. Most philosophers viewed and judged a human's life by the good they have done in their life, as most people do. Dewey however looked at a humans life as history. Dewey viewed how could that person improve or do better. These ideas prompted the idea to not let history repeat itself, not using end to judge but to use end as a tool to improve our own end. There is no absolute good, Dewey just wanted improvement. -
Instrumentalism
Dewey thought ideas as tools for humans, to solve the problems of the world around them. Comparing ideas to a hammer and nail, nail being the problem and the hammer being an idea. Examples I like to think of is natural disasters. Thinking of building a sea wall is an excellent idea and tool to prevent flooding. Dewey's philosophy on Instrumentalism, is to always challenge the world around you, always experiment and hypothesize.
