John Brown's Raid At Harper's Ferry

    The raid was an effort by the armed abolitionist to initiate an armed slave . This was supposed to be done by taking over a United States arsenal at Harper's Ferry, Virginia.

  • End Result

    Brown's failed attempt to loot the armory at Harper's Ferry, ended with his capture. He was put on trial for treason, found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging.
