    the first Official Jazz band came out of New Orleans in 1917 was named the Original Dixieland Jass Band (ODJB), they were started when a Producer from Chicago thought it would be a great idea to bring a New Orleans style band back to the Windy City. the band consisted of five members, clarinetist Alcide Nunez,drummer Johnny Stein, trombonist Eddie Edwards, pianist Henry Ragas, and cornetist Frank Christian.
