Ivan The Teriible

Ivan the the terrible is born.

Aug 25, 1530

Ivan the lV was born august 25, 1530 in Russia. His father was killed when e was a young boy which made him have to be raised by the boyard or the rich noblemen who ran Russia. The lack of care and poor led him to be angry which caused him to kill and torture animals. This is significant because he develpoed a hate for Boars because of there neglect and thirst for power. Ivans tortureing of animals would lead up to him stop ding it to animals and move to people next. Source: (Thomas 153)

Mongol emperor dies.

Right when Ivan is born the Mongol leader dies. Now Russia who is located close to the other empire didnt have to worry about being attacked by that great leader. Thisn is significant because the people in the Mongolian empire had to find a leader who was close to his leadership.

Ivan commands Russia.

Dec 1, 1547

Ivan comes to power as supreme ruler of Russia at age 17. Ivan became ruler by killing all the Boars who neglected him as a child and only craved power and wealth. This is important because this is just the kick start of Ivans terrible rule of Russia and his cruelness to anybody he dosent like. source:(Wallace 77)

Ivan trys to gain land.

Right away Ivan commanded his Army to attack multiple areas around Russia. These areas are were part of 'The period of Russia" when Ivan gained Siberia and the areas around the Volga river. This is important because this showed Ivans goals were to gain power for Russia and to do so they most set out and capture land. Gaining the land allowed them to montior and use the Volga river for Russian uses. (Blumberg 126)

Set of Laws are created.

Ivan has been ruler for a few years and had shown his power was to be repected. Ivan decided to create his own set of laws called subenit. These now would allow him to create cruel harsh ounishment for anyone who didtn obey his laws. This was signficant because Ivan now had a way to punish peopel and not feel gulity after. Ivan throughout his viloent reign always tried to justify his actions or sulk about how he wasnt fit to be a person. (blumberg126)

Ivan becomes sick

Ivan became very sick with a mysterious diease. He was told and convinced that he was going to die from it, so he had certain wishes to be obeyed by the other high political on how to be run the country. nobody agreed to it and he was angerd by it. novgorod

Ivan had had the colony of Novgorod disrespect him. He marhced down his troops and killed everything. He would throw men,women, and children into a river than pear them if they lifted there head. Ivan who felt bad after had monks pray for the souls of the dead, then killed the monks shortly after. This is significant because Ivan had been angry at the people of Novgorod for not listening to him and killed all of them because of it. Source: (Blumberg)

Ivan regains health

After being sick and not beeing in full control Ivan returned to power. Ivan had devloped hate for the people who didnt follow his commands This is significant because it will lead to Ivan in the short fututre to start to seek his revenge. Source;(Blumberg)

Ivans cruelness.

Ivan had assembled all his people to the the citys streets and brought all the men who didnt obey his orders when he was stuck in bed sick. He publicly killed them and wasnt finished. He killed some people because he thought they had broken a law and others because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This is significant because Ivan had struck even more fear into his people and his widespread killings of people just started now. They would continue all the way to 1572.

Ivan the terrible after declareing a new time of peace killed his son. Ivan had kiled his son because he felt as if he wasnt loyal to him. This is significant because right after Ivan himself and declared that there would be peace killed his own son. This showed Ivan was willing to kill anybody now and nobody could trust him. source (Blumberg)

Ivan dies
