Israel launched a strike against Syria and Jordan.The Six Day war that followed ended with the Israeli army taking Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, Syria's Golan Heights, and Jordan's West Bank.

PLO Is Expelled from Jordan and Moves to Lebanon
After attempting to overthrow Jordanian Monarchy, the PLO is forced to move to somewhere else. In Lebanon, where they moved, they started to organize refugees, and also began to dominate the Shiite areas of southern Lebanon.

Israel Invades Lebanon, Eventually Driving the PLO out of Beirut
This invasion was a long siege of the western part of Beirut, mostly owned by Muslims and dominated by the PLO. The siege ended with the agreement that the PLO would leave Beirut.

First Palestinian Intifada Begins
The Intifada was brought to light because of an incident in Gaza, and the uprising was an accumulation of Palestinian tensions and grievances. In mid-January the intifada emerged from the center of Jerusalem, as Israeli security forces used tear gas around the two sacred mosques in the Haram al-Sharif.

Massacre at the Tomb of the Patriarchs
Baruch Goldstein (an American immigrant to Israel shot at kneeling worshipers, killing 29 and wounding at least 125 unarmed Palestinians. After this, he was knocked out and beaten to death.

Beginning of the Second Intifada
Likud leader Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, which caused the very next day, Palestinian demonstrators to be shot by Israeli soldiers. In Gaza, a twelve-year-old Palestinian boy was caught in the firing and killed.

Escalating Violence between Palestinians and Israelis
Violence erupted the Temple Mount and the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem for a third day. The spike in violence began a few days after Moshe Ya’alon signed a decree banning specific male and female Islamist activist groups.
