The Start of the Israel Palestine Conflict
The conflict began in 1947 when Israel was officially established. It started violence and wars over the both, Palestinians and Israeli. The United Nations tries to make a petition trying telling them to separate their land into halves depending on if they are Jewish or Palestinian. Eventually Israel declares its independence. This is where it started. -
First War Begins
The war began when five Arab Nations attacked a chunk of Palestine territory. On May 14 the Arabs launched a bombing on Tel Aviv. The Israeli's tried to fight back but were not victorious. The forces of Israel started to train and they were then able to put of with the Palestinians. -
Creation of the PLO
The PLO stood for the Palestine Liberation Organization. It was established in 1964 in Jerusalem. It was created to organize peace and conflicts and it was growing very huge and important. Its main goal was to find independence and separation between the two religions, and bringing back refugees that have been in Israel territory. -
Yasser Arafat Elected Chairman of the PLO.
Yasser Arafat was born in 1929 and was the founder of Fatah. Fatah is a secure political party. And is one of the largest and most powerful organizations in the world. When he was elected chairmen he adopted Fatah to itself and to have no leader and it struggled. However, he brought a lot of military organizations under the authority of the PLO. -
Egypt and Israel sign a peace treaty.
In March 26, 1979, a ceremony was hosted by U.S President, Jimmy Carter at the White House. The Prime Minister of Israel and the Egyptian President signed the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty. This was the first peace treaty ever signed between an Arab nation and Israel. -
Founding of Hamas
Hamas was founded in 1984. It was an organization made during the first intifada. It was made for elite soldiers that could put up with Israel. It was founded by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. -
PCN Proclaims the Establishment of a Palestinian State.
In November 18 of 1988 Yasir Arafat declared Palestine as a separate and Independent state to be a part of a very important program that states that Israel is no longer a very huge threat and that Palestine now has its own official state. -
Hamas Carries out Suicide Bombing Within Israel.
On the 16th of April, a man by the name of Tamam Nabulsi blew up his car by a bus parked near a settlement called Mechola. Two passengers died and five were wounded. This was the first suicide bombing completed by Hamas. -
Hamas Fires Barrage of Rockets into Israel.
Tensions were very tight between Israel and Hamas on this day. On November 14, 2008, a barrage of rockets were ordered to be launched into Israel, sending 18 Israeli into the hospital. Hamas claims that they did it because of the last 11 days, which were attacks from Israel that got some Palestinian people killed. -
United States Commits $48 billion dollars to support Israel in the War.
The United States on Wednesday, September 26, 2016, has signed a security agreement with Israel that they will give them $48 billion dollars over the course of ten years to help them with their war. The agreement is the largest amount of money that the United States has given anyone over the course of ten years, but only because Israel is one of our greatest allies.
