Isaac Newton was born on January 4th, 1643, in Woolsthorpe, England. Isaac was born during the 17th century which was during the Scientific Revolution. Isaac was born without a father because his dad had died 3 months before his birth. This is significant because it was when one of the greatest minds of the Scientific Revolution came into the world ("Isaac Newton Biography"). -

In 1648, the Thirty Years' War ends. German population is about half of what it was in 1618 because of war and pestilence. This is significant because it marks the end of a very big war with a lot of fatalities especially in Germany ("1600-1699 A.D. World History"). -

At the age of 12, Isaac Newton had been enrolled at the King's School in Grantham. Grantham was a town in Lincolnshire where the King's School was and was where Newton lodged with the local apothecary. This event is significant because it was where Newton was first introduced to chemistry which started his interest in science ("Isaac Newton Biography"). -

In, 1661, at the age of 19, Newton entered Trinity college in Cambridge. He was able to attend because his Uncle had a job at the school. This event is significant because it is where and when Isaac Newton gained his education which helped him become one of the greatest scientists of all time (Harrison 107). -

In 1665 there is a great plague in London which kills 75,000 people. This was known as the black death plague. The plague started East and quickly spread to Europe. This event is significant because it is a large scale death in England which was a powerful counrty during this time period ("The Great Plague"). -

Newton earned his Bachelor's degree in 1665 and stayed for his masters but an epidemic of the plague caused the university to close sending Newton home. He returned in 1667 and quickly completed the requirements for his masters degree. This is significant because it represents all the education he acquired in college (Harrison 107). -

In 1670, Newton inaugurated his professorship by delivering a series of lectures on optics, relating to an expansion of his experiments with prisms in the previous decade. By that time Newton had designed and constructed the first working reflecting microscope. This is significant because his lectures related to expansion of his experiments with prisms and was during a time when he had full completed the reflecting microscope ("Newton, Isaac" 57). -

In 1672, Isaac sent model of telescope in which the image was viewed in a concave mirror through an eyepiece in the side of a tube to Royal society. The members of the Royal society were impressed with the efficiency of the small reflecting telescope. This is significant because it is one of Isaac's achievements and shows how intelligent he is (Harrison 107). -

Newton's three laws of motion which are within his published work, The Principia, is one of the most know things about Newton. The first law describes how an object moves when no force is acting upon it, the second describes how force and acceleration are related, and the third law states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction ("Newton's Laws of Motion") -

This is significant because it is one of Newton's greates accomplishments and answers the question of why the planets, comets, and other object in space move (Harrison 107). -

Peter the great becomes czar of Russia. He attempts to westernize nation and build Russia as a military power. This is significant because Peter was a great ruler and Russia and gave them power which made them more dangerous to the rest of the world ("1600-1699 A.D. World History"). -

William III of England defeats former king James II and Irish rebels at the Battle of the Boyne in Ireland. William wins and secured his reconquest of Ireland with the the Treaty of Limerick. This is significant because it shows what kind of leader William is and is an important event in English history ("The Battle of the Boyne"). -

In 1703, Newton was elected president of the Royal Society, a post he retained until his death. He earned this role because of the intelligence he showed and because of the knowledge he shared with the society with his model of a telescope. This is significant because it shows the importance of Isaac and shows how his work in science throughput the years of his life was appreciated ("Newton, Isaac" 57). -

Isaac Newton died on March 20, 1727, at the age of 84 in Kensington, London. Sir Isaac is buried at the famous Westminster Abbey, This is significant because this is the day the world lost one of its greatest scientific minds ("Newton, Isaac" 57).
