Fashion in the 1900's
In the 1900's women and girls were not allowed to wear trousers or skirts that were above the knees, they had to wear a skirt that was long enough to cover their whole leg whilst the boys and men had to wear a jacket, coat and a tie to look very formal.They would have to always wear this no matter what the weather was, as it was compulsory. -
Fashion in the 1910's
They continued the same fashion trend from the 1900's like the women wearing long skirts covering the legs and the male wearing coats and tie's looking very formal in all climate weathers. -
Fashion in the 1920's
In the 1920's the fashion trends for women's were low waist dresses and most of the clothes were more revealing like the dresses would reveal most of their legs.They would also wear stockings, scarves and there clothes would be very bright and vibrant. -
Fashion in the 1930's
The fashion in the 1930's was where women would wear gloves, simple handbag and a hat that was worn in an angle and they started to wear more revealing clothes like showing the shoulder in tops/dresses.Men would wear extra broad shoulder clothes and tight waisted pants. Everything would be big, tall, and loose so men could work around and play comfortably. -
Fashion in the 1940's
The womens had very long skirts with sloping shoulder tops but if it was a normal day out they would just wear a casual shirt with a jacket or a dress in tweeds and woollens type of clothing material. Since 1940 was around the war period men had to wear a de-mob suit which consisted of a shirt, tie, double breasted jacket and loose fitting trousers. -
Fashion in the 1950's
Both women and men continued the style as in the 1940's like the women would wear the slouched shoulder top then they also revolved to wearing cardigans and the men would style their hair back to the side with"Brill Cream". -
Fashion on the 1960's
This time period was also known as the swinging sixtiesWomen started to wear high neck buttoned up blouses, slime tight pants and their shoes went from a normal heel oxford to a low heeled shoe. The men began to wear normal suits and sweaters. -
Fashion in the 1970's
The women fashion included cowl-neck shirts/sweaters, pantsuits/tracksuits. The men fashion included bell bottom pants, big collars, jump suits mostly worn at disco. -
Fashion in the 1980's
They continued the same trend in the 1970's like the women wearing the v-neck tops and high-neck buttoned sweater whilst the men wore sweaters and suits. -
Fashion in the 1990's
This time of period the fashion trend was called grunge.Both women and men would wear darker coloured flannel shirt, bandanna shirt, and stonewashed ripped jeans. -
Fashion in the 2000's
The fashion trend was called the "carry overs" this included ripped jeans, hoodies, cargo pants, white belts, cropped jackets whilst the men would wear sweatbands, trucker caps, short sleeved tops and shorts. -
Fashion in the 2010's
The women started wearing flip flops, ankle length pants, coloured jeans commonly denim, footless tights and the men would wear hiphop type of clothes like vans, necklaces, caps, skinny jeans, and sunglasses.
