Iran Hostage Crisis
This was President Carter's greatest foreign policy crisis that started in Iran. When the US had backed up Shah and was overthrown in an Islamic revolution headed by the religious leader Ayatollah Khomeini. They took 52 American hostages from the US Embassy and help them for 444 days.

Sandra Day O'Connor is sworn in
President Reagan had nominated Sandra Day O'Connor for the first female supreme court justice judge. She took the job and was sworn in on Thursday, September 24th, 1981. She had grown up around many of her family, mostly in isolation. Invasion of Grenada
President Ronald Reagan sent troops during the Cold War to the island of Grenada with a plan to remove communism and set up a pro-US government. He sent these troops in after the Reagan Doctrine which was to build up the military and provide aid to the countries that were opposing to communism.

When going up for reelection in 1984, Reagan had won the most of all the past presidents. He had gotten over 500 votes and won 58.8%, getting almost all the states in the 50 states of the US (49).
