1)The number of people that can be successfully integrated
The number of refugees that can be successfully integrated in my town,Kozani, in proportion to its population is around 5.600. We know that, because we compared the numbers of the population and refugees of a small island, Tilos. Tilos, has a population of 500 people, and it hosted 70 refugees. -
2)Accomodation
There are places that the refugees can stay. The refugees NGO's can be offered any vacant or abandoned houses, that they can fix, so they are safe for the refugees to live. Also, the NGO can undertake to pay a nominal rent. Lastly, they can stay in camps, that will be set up in special areas. -
3)The kind of entrepreneurship that can be developed.
There are many things that refugees can do. They can help in farming the mainstay of the area's economy. For example, they can help harvest saffron. Also, they can work as construction workers or workers in fields. Lastly, they can work in factories.
Women can also help in farming and they can work as workers in partnerships. -
4)The ways school can help.
First of all, it is very important that lessons in Greek can be provided to refugees. School can organize a bazaar, a ball, a charity or any other fundraising events that can help refugees feel welcome. Also, school should encourage students to accept refugees. Furthermore, older students can help younger refugee children with homework, whenever they can afford the time. Lastly, they can invite them to join them when they play sports in the gym class, so they can get to know each other better. -
5)The potential benefits for the local community.
Thanks to the refugees, the local community will have more manpower. Also, residents can learn more things about their culture and their lifestyle and become more open-minded. Lastly, some of the refugees will grow and maybe create their businesses, that employ locals, pay taxes and generate wealth.
