CAI Research began
1950's
Much of the work done in computer-assisted instruction (CAI) was done by researchers at IBM. They developed the first CAI language and one of the first CAI programs for use in public schools. Despite all the work and effort, by the late 1970's, CAI's impact on education was minimal. (p.20) Reiser, R., & Dempsey, J. (2012). Gagne
In his book, The Conditions of Learning, "Robert Gagne described five domans of learning outcomes, each requiring a different set of conditions to promote learning. He described nine events of instruction. His descriptions of outcomes and events remain cornerstones of Instruction Design." (p.25) Reiser, R., & Dempsey, J. (2012).
