Central Idea
Students will learn how to determine the cetral idea of an article and analyze its development over the course of a text. -
I Do
For three to four days, students will follow along as I model how to write a constructed response for determining central idea. -
We Do
Students will work in collaboration with me to complete the central idea worksheet. -
We Do-Small Group
In smaller groups of 3-4, students will continue to practice determining the central idea and supporting details. -
You Do-Pairs
Students working in pairs, will continue practice with new articles. -
You Do
Individually, on their own, students practice determining the central idea and supporting details. -
Formative Assessment
Over two days, students will take the formative assesment or unit test.
