    The Missouri Compromise - 1820
The Missouri Territory caused big waves when it was admitted into the U.S. in 1820 because the North and South couldn’t agree on if the territory should have slaves or not. In the end, though, the conclusion was established that the South could have this territory. This impacted the country because it was another rift between the North and the South, which needed to unite in order to become a strong nation. The Missouri Compromise benefited the South because it now had more economic support.
