Benjamin Franklin published a snake cut into 8 pieces representing the colonies with a purpose to try and unite the colonies. It was published during the French and Indian War to make sure they won the war.

Paul Revere's Boston Massacre Engraving
One night the colonists of Boston were being rowdy, "A shot rang out, and then several soldiers fired their weapons"[Gilder Lehrman]. Once the smoke had cleared, 5 people lay dead on the ground.
Then, "Paul Revere created [an] engraving just 3 weeks after it occurred," showing soldiers firing into a crowd of unarmed colonists.[Heritage Project].

Boston Tea Party
To show their anger, "American colonists boarded . . . ships in Boston Harbor and dumped 342 chests of tea into the water"[dpla]. The colonists did this to show their frustration at Britain for what they called, “taxation without representation"[History.com]. Meaning they would pay, but in return, they still got no voice in their government.

This was a document written by Thomas Paine that changed many colonists' desire for Independence. It highlighted the unjust way of government which changes many viewpoints.

This is the document that claimed independence for America and finally separated them from the British. They had to create their own government and laws after which was a large change for everyone.
