    The start of large use of factories and producing products in large quanities called mass production. Techniques where formed like division of labor to improve the speed of production. America trasitioned from an agricultural country to an idustrial country.

    Immigrants from several different countries came to America by ship. The condition wereterrible but America was seen as "The Land of Oppertunity". Immigrants helped the industrial revolution because they filled in factory or railroad jobs. Immigrants came in through the Ellis Island or Angel Island ports.

    Created by Andrew Carnegie was the Carnegie Steel Company. The company building was a large sky scraper called the Carnegie Tower. The Carnegie Steel Company was one of the first and biggest monopolies to start in the Indusrial Revolution

    Ellis island is a famous immigrant inspection port that millions of immigrants where sent to. The first thing immigrants would see when they arrived was the Statue of Liberty. The conditions of the port where extremely terrible for the immigrants. Though Ellis Island increased the amount of immigrants entering the U.S.

    The Chinese Exclusion Act banned the Chinese from immigrating to the U.S because they were taking up jobs that Americans needed. Americans where prejudice against the Chinese.They where considered unskilled and unintelligent. This increased the racial tension in the U.S.

    Theodore Roosevelt is one of the most famous presidents and was president during the Progressive Era. He was known as the trust buster because he broke up monopoly trusts. Monopolies where owned by either a Robber Baron who was greedy or a Captain of Indusrty who donated to the puplic. Trust where bad for the economy.

    A step in the Progressive Era was improving the transportation. The first plane was made shortly before the Model T. This was a great movement in the transportation of the time period.

    The Model T was the first affordable car for the average American. It was created by Henry Ford. It madea huge impact in American cluture for it was a new popular form of transportation. This was huge progress for the Industrial Revolution.

    The National Conservation Commission of 1909 was passed to improve wildlife with conservation during the Progressive Era. Consevation was important during this time because of the damge to the envirement from the factories during the industial revolution.

    Fire caused in poor factory conditions, 146 people died. Most burned to death, jumped out a window or felll down the elevator chute. This event occured in New York City. The fire could have been prevented if the work conditin where safer.
