Goods such as weapons (muskets, flint, knives) and alcohol (spirits) were sailed from ports to exchange for enslaved Africans. AFRICA-AMERICAS
As many as 530 African slaves (people of other tribes) were put into hold of the ship below deck and sold to Americas for money. The conditions aboard slave ships were terrible. Slaves were so commonly sold as they were used for work, slaves weren't paid so it was cheap labor and also for plantations: cotton, tobacco, sugar cane. -

AMERICAS-EUROPE
Goods such as rum (alcohol), tobacco, sugar and cotton were transported from America to Europe. Sugar was a major good being transported as sugar needs to be grown in humid/sunny conditions and European weather is very cold and rainy, so America was a good place to get their supply of sugar. -
Steam engine
Invented by Thomas Savery in 1698.
Was needed in order for trains to operate. Helped improve transportation. -
Spinning Jenny
Invented by James Hargreaves in 1764. Multi-spindle spinning frame, was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution. -
Cotton Gin
Invented by Eli Whitney in 1793. A machine that revolutionized cotton by greatly speeding up the process of removing seeds from cotton fiber. After the cotton gin, cotton became Americas leading crop. It made life a lot easier for farmers growing cotton. -
Railroads
Invented by George Stephenson. The first Transcontinental railroads was built crossing the western half of America. It was 1,776 miles long and served for the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States to be connected by rail for the first time in history. Railroads created a more interconnected society. Countries were able to work together easier due to the decreased travel time. -
Steam Boat
Invented by Robert Fulton in 1807. A boat that is propelled by a steam engine, paddle-wheel craft of a type used on rivers in the 19th century.Dramatically changed society as steamboats were the first means of travelling upstream.
Via steamboat, people could ship and receive goods easily and efficiently. By 1815, steamboats were the main vessels traveling the water. -

Happened in Britain. There were many conflicting views about working conditions in factories.

Telegraph
Invented by Samuel Morse in 1837. Made it so people could communicate across vast distances. Influenced society as people could then talk to their families. Useful in business also. -
Telephone
Invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. Useful because people were able to talk directly to each other. -
Dynamite
Invented by Alfred Noble in 1886. An explosive. Made mining and construction a lot easier. -
Radio
Invented by Nikola Tesla in 1895. Made communication much easier. -
Airplane
Invented in 1903 by the Wright Brothers. Made transportation a heap easier. Flies people from one state/country to another.
