Eli Whitney
In 1793 Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. This invention led to a cotton boom in the south. Because the cotton gin made it easier to remove the seeds out of short staple cotton, the planters needed more slaves to pick the cotton to put into the gin. Since the demand foe slaves were high the price of slaves doubled leading to an econimic boom. -
Samuel Slater
In 1793 Samuel Slater created the textile machine. He stole the idea from a English inventor Richard Arckwright. -

In 1807 Robert Folten invented a steamboat. The Steamboat allowed goods to be moved more easily and it increased trade profits.Made going up the Mississippi river faster and easier. -
Peter Cooper
in 1830 Peter Cooper invented the locomotive. The locomotinve increased speed of transportation and travel, Led to an economic boom, and increased westrard expansion. Raced a horse to see if the locomotive was the fastest way of transportation. -
Cyrus McCormic
in 1831 Cyrus McCormi inventis the Havisting Machine Reaper. This increased wheat production because it could be cut quickly and effectively and it was the beginnings of the advertising market. Made wheat easier to harvest. -
Samuel F.B. Morse
Samuel F.B. Morseinvented the telegraph. The invention let to easier ways for people to communicate over longer distances. -
John Deere
John Deere invented the steel plow. The steel plow made turning up the ground much easier. This invention made farming much easier. -
Isaac Singer
Isaac Singer invented the sewing machine. The sewing machine made the clothing production much more efficient.
