    Rotherham Plow was a vast improvement over the traditional plow. Improved by Disney Stanyforth and Joseph Foljambe, the rotherham plow was a lot lighter and easier to maneuver and could be dragged by a team of horses. It was used on an at home scale more towards the 1760s.

    Selective Breading is used in plants to make a higher crop yeild and used in animals to have more resistance to disease and higher growth rate. These characteristics benifited the farmers greatly by giving them more crops to eat and sell and animals grow faster and bigger.

    A United States inventor named Eli Whitney made the cotton gin which removed the seeds from the cotton. This invention was great because cotton became the leading export in America. This invention sped up cotton production greatly.

    This plow was a post with a piece of iron to dig into the ground. These iron ploughs had to be specialy ordered from a blacksmith since these plows were not very common. The blacksmith had to melt the iron and cast it into shape to fit the plow specifications.

    The grain drill was just to disks cutting into the ground being dragged by a horse dropping seeds into the ground as it goes. This sped up the process greatly. Before the grain drill people had to walk and trough the seeds out by hand.

    The first combine was pulled by a team of 16 horses or more. This was a machine that cut the crop and seperated the stalk from the seed right there.

    This tool was used to chop the plants while they were ripe. Before this people had to walk with a scythe and cut it by hand while somone would walk behind collecting it. This made the process esear and faster.

    This plow was tougher and lighter. This made it to were the farmer would not have to change the blade as orfter a and iron one. The lightness of the plow allowed the horse to pull it faster through the earth. The polished steel blade helped the sticky thick mud slide off and not gey caught on the blade.

    The mover was a horse drawn cutter used to cut grasse and weeds. These grasses were used mainly in hay for livestock. This allowed the farmer to cut the grass before it died and to cut the time taken down.

    The the phosphate fertilizer made the crops grow faster and helthier. This factery produced fertilizer in huge amounts making it cheaper and easier to get.

    The grain elevtor icreased the movement of grains to the factories it was baught and used for food at. The grain elevator made it easier to load the grains into the steamboats to transport.

    The irrigation system helped move water to crops. This helped so the farmer would not have to just rely on the rains to water there crops. This gave the farmer assurance that his crops would have water.

    the barbed wire was wire twisted wirewith spikes on it. The barbed wire was used to keep a farmers animals on his property. This also helped mark were one's land was and to keep other animals out.

    The first tractor was invented by John Froelich for his yearly thershing tour. This tractor move along at 3 mile per hour. With this tractor they cut more than 1000 bushel per day only using 26 gallons of gasoline.
