Dhakiyarr v The King
Dhakiyarr's trial and appeal were not the only catalyst for the important changes in Aboriginal administration later in the 1930s. Dhakiyarr's case, the unjust court procedures and the consequences for Dhakiyarr accelerated the process of bringing long overdue reforms to the legal system.

Wave Hill Walk-Off
An attempt to introduce equal wages for Aboriginal workers was made in 1965, but in March 1966, Government decided to delay award wage payments until 1968.
In August 1966, Vincent Lingiari, a Gurindji spokesman, led a walk-off of 200 Aboriginal stockmen, house servants, & their families from Wave Hill as a protest. The strike was part of a widespread campaign begun by workers was supported by non-Indigenous people.
