Muslim League was formed
The Muslim League formed in 1906 after the Indian National Congress was formed. They wanted self-government like the Indian National Congress, but made their own group because they had an extremely different religion than the majority of the people in the Indian National Congress. -
Boycotting of British Cloth started
Many Indians boycotted British cloth in the years 1919-1922. They did this to hurt British businesses and they bought from locals instead. -
Rowlatt Acts
The Rowlatt Acts allowed the British to have trials without juries and to put a suspect for a crime in jail without a trial. These laws were disliked by the majority of the Indians and caused many protests. -
Jallianwala Bagh massacre
Many Indians gathered to peacefully protest and British killed several of the protestors even though they were innocent. They also killed many Indians who gathered there as part of a event. -
The Salt March Begins
Gandhi and his supporters had a salt march where they walked to the sea to make salt. They did this to defy the law called the Salt Act that was made to keep people from making salt if they were not authorized by the British. -
Dharasana Salt Works
A poet named Sarojini Naidu led over 2,000 people on a "raid" in protest of the British's salt tax. Even though the protest was nonviolent British policemen attacked the protestors and beat them. -
The Quit India Movement
A movement was started that pushed for the freedom of India from the British. -

The Indian Independence Act makes India and Pakistan two separate nations that were seprate than Britian.
