Meeting between the three estates in Versailles to vote if taxation should be implemented on the second estate. King Louis had to call for this meeting because people were unhappy with taxation. This is important because it was the start of the French revolution. -
In need for a new constitution
Representatives of the third estate decided to stay until a new constitution was established (National Assembly.) This was important because it lead to the creation of the National Assembly. This leads to the Tennis Court oath. -
Storming of Bastille
Since most part of the population of France was unhappy with the decisions being made by the government, a large group of protestors attacked the prison of Bastille since it represented a symbol of monarchy and dictatorship. -
National Assembly abolishes feudalism
The National Assembly abloishes feudalism and the feudal system. This was important because finally everyone was equal and the people felt free. -
Rights of the people are established
The National Assembly decrees the rights of the people. This was important because it gave the French people the rights that they had never had before. -
Women express their opinions
After experiencing hunger for quite some time, women lead the delegation and go the the king in Versailles to complain about hunger and demand bread. This shows what people were going through at the time. -
Louis tries to flee
Under so much pressure from its people, Louis grows fear and attempts to leave the country. The people saw this coming and returned Louis back to Paris under force. This shows the amount of fear Louis had of his subjects. -
France Declares War
France declares war on Austria. When they were about to fight the french troops backed out and fled. This is important because it meant that France didn't want to go to war. -
The end of Louis
King Louis is executed infront of a big audience as the people are happy that their bad ruler is dead. This was important since is started a new system for the country of France. -
The End of Robespierre
Maximillien Robespierre is called for arrest. After his arrest Max is executed and the terror is over.
