Important events in 1941-1945

  • Prices in 1941

    Prices in 1941
In 1941 prices were way different than they are today. A gallon of gas was only 12 cents and to rent a house was $32.00 per month. To buy a new car was $850.00. A slice of bacon per pound is 59 cents and a quart of milk is 14 cents. Also, a pound of butter is 41 cent. A pound of white bread is 8 cents not only that but a pound of sugar was 6 cents. I feel like this was important because every year prices decrease and increase.
  • K-9 dog training (continued)

This is important because dogs were big help during the war, even to this day dogs are used in the war and for police officers. I feel like dogs are big help in the war because they are able to sniff guns and other war material out.
  • K-9 dog training

    K-9 dog training
In1942 the K-9 corps began to train dogs for use in warfare. Over a million dogs served on both sides of the war. The k-9 corps accepted over 30 breeds of dog, but then narrowed down to German Shepherds, Belgian Sheep dogs, Doberman Pinschers, Collies, Siberian Huskies, Malumutes, and Eskimo dogs. Not only that, but members of the corps were trained for a total of 8 to 12 weeks then were sent to four specialized programs to prepare them for sentry, scout or patrol dogs.
  • Harry James "I've heard that song before"

Harry James "I've heard that song before"
In 1943 the song "I've heard that song before" became a top hit! The song was number 1 for 13 weeks on the billboard. The song is in a jazz category. The song came out in July. Harry sung the song with Helen. I think this is important because music defines people and their feelings. Also, because music never gets old, people always make music or listens to music. https://youtu.be/tX5S9iXmMek
  • Steel Wheat Penny

    Steel Wheat Penny
IN 1944 the Steel wheat penny came out. Only a few of the pennies were ever minted. All of the pennies were released by an error into the coin supply.Wheat pennies were made out of metal recycled from ammunition shells. The steel wheat pennies are valued around $77,234. I feel like this is important because money is a big thing in the world today. Money always increase and decrease. People will always need money for things they need.
  • 1945 Girls Fashion

    1945 Girls Fashion
Women all around the world wore very high wasted, button or zippered down the side jeans. They had full legs and wide cuffs at bottom. They were always made out of cotton. denim, and wool.Girls would wear suit skirts; a line skirt (not a pencil) & were flared out from the hip to the knee.Women also wore blouses with the suit skirts. Blouses were either a solid color or striped & could be long or short sleeved. This is important because fashion changes every year, to new or old trends.
  • 1945 Men Fashion

    1945 Men Fashion
Men always wore thick wool suits that were either black, navy, grey, dark brown, tan, or medium blue. In the summer they would wear medium grey, brown, tan, and medium blue suits. Also, over plaids were very popular. Suit trousers were flat with single pleats. they were high wasted and hemmed at the bottom.I think this is important because men fashion really never changes, men still wear suits for different things like weddings or meeting. Suits always are a trend for men.
