  • Brown vs The Board of Education

    Children cannot being denied the opportunity of an education.

  • Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA)

    This law was made to address the inequality of educational opportunity for underprivileged children, Access to quality education, as said by Wright (1998-2018). Wright (1998-2018) said that it started the expansion for education of handicapped children.

  • PARC and Mills

    Wright (1998-2018) said that in early 1970s two cases were brought up to the courts, Pennsylvania Assn. for Retarded Children v.Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (PARC)and Mills v. Board of Education of District of Columbia.

  • Education of the Handicapped Act

    Education of the Handicapped Act (P.L. 91-230) is a program that made States to develop educational programs for students with disabilities, Wright (1998-2018).

  • Congressional Investigation (1972)

    After PARC and Mills congress establish the right to education for all handicapped children as said by Wright (1998-2018).

  • The Rehabilitation Act of 1973

    Protects students with a disability from being discriminated

  • Public Law 94-142: The Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975

    Wright (1998-2018) said that congress intended all children with disabilities have the right to education, State and local education agencies are responsible for providing services to children with disabilities.

  • Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990

    This laws also protects form being discriminated in colleges and universities as well as elementary, middle and high schools. The universities do not provide free education but they have to offer an environment suitable for students with disabilities as said by Masters in Special Education Degree Program Guide (2018).

  • Aligning IDEA and NCLB

    No Child Left Behind Act ,"to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education.” Wright (1998-2018).

  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004

    The Special Education Act has been change over the years in 2004 it was reauthorized statute is the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act as said by Wright (1998-2018).
