The Battle of Hastings was an important battle in which William won that allowed him to be an effective king. By establishing the Normans as the rulers of England he brought a significant cultural transformation. If Britain was not involved it might've ended up with a different leader who did not make such an impact as William did. -

The signing of the Magna Carta was a document signing that safeguarded basic freedoms and placed limits on the power of the crown, If Britain had not been a part of this event power could've been mishandled leading to governmental corruption, which would've affected today's governmental system. -

Britain joined the war in 1914 and played a major role in beating the central powers. If Britain had not entered the war the central powers would've won without a doubt. -

Britain entered the war in 1939 and just as in world war 1 played a major role to defeat Germany. And again if Britain hadn't joined the war Germany would have won ww2 causing more deaths to occur. -

Britain helps win the first gulf war
"The Gulf War started when the Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, allegedly to use the country’s oil wealth to pay off debts his own country had run up during the 1980 – 1988 Iran-Iraq War." Britain took part in this war and helped the US win and it would have been harder for them to win if Britain had not been present in this event.
