Step 1
Someone consumes a substance for the first time that results in an allergic reaction. Consuming an allergen type substance only takes a few seconds. -
Step 3
Once the antibody is attached to the cells, the body is prepared if it consumes the substance again. -
Step 4
When the allergen enters the body, it binds to the antibodies; releasing histamine. The release of histamine can be done within seconds of consumption. -
Step 5
The histamine causes irritation and swelling in parts of the body, also known as an allergic reaction. These effects could be noticed within seconds or in a few hours. -
Step 6
This irritation is different from person to person as to what place of the body is affected and how severely. This reaction may result in the person becoming hospitalized. -
Step 2
An antibody is created and attaches itself to cells found in the tissues of the body. Creating an antibody can take up to two weeks before it is prepared enough for the allergen.
