The allergen first enters the body. -

The immune system recognizes a "foreign invader" and antibody is formed. An antibody is a protein in the body that detects harmful substances. -

The allergen enters the body again. -

The antibody attaches itself to the cells throughout the body. Now, when the allergen is present again it is ready. -

The antibodies throughout the body now detect the allergen and the allergen bind to them. -

A signal is now sent out to the body and it releases a large amount of histamine. Histamine causes an immune response and triggers the reaction. -
7.
Food allergens and food intolerances may look very similar but make sure that before any drastic moves are made to know which is occurring. -
