The large ammounts of histamine cause an allergic reaction which can cause irritation and swelling in areas of the body. -
Reaction
The reaction is different for different people and allergies but when treated the body goes back to it's noraml state and is prepared to deal with the allergen again when needed -
Food enters the body
the food enters the body for the first time -
After the allergen is consumed
When the allergen is eaten, a IgE antibody is formed and attaches itself to cells found in the tissues in cells all over the body. The body is now prepared to deal with the allergen when it comes in contact again. -
Histamine
When the food allergen enters the body again, the allergen binds to IgE antibodies and sends out signals for the body to release large amounts of Histamine
