Immune Response and Symptoms

  • Step 1

    Step 1
This is when you eat the food for the first time. No reaction occurs during this time.
  • Step 2

    Step 2
Once food is consumed once, your body starts to create antibodies against the certain ingredient.
  • Step 3

    Step 3
The antibodies then attach to the major masses of tissue such as lungs, skin, throat, digestive sytem, etc.nThe antobodies do this so they can be prepared to fight off the unwelcome food.
  • Step 4

    Step 4
Once you eat that food again, your antibodies will attack the substance and release a chemical called a histamine. Wherever that histamine was released (the digestive system for example) then that is where the biggest allergic reaction will occur (diarrhea or stomach pains).
  • Step 5

    Step 5
Your body will then react to the food based on where the histamines were released. Some of the reactions will be little, but others could be deadly- also called anaphylaxis. If someone has a deadly allergic reaction to a certain food, in most cases, they will have medicine to treat the allergic reaction. Find the medication, and inject it into them
  • Step 6

    Step 6
Even if you have injected the medication into the person, go get help or call 911. This is very important to keep that person from having the reaction, or at least checking to make sure that the reaction will not occur.
