Northern Chinese Famine
Due to the Northern Chinese Famine of 1876, I decided to move my life away from China, and into America. -
New Life
After escaping the famine of Northern China, i ended up arriving at Angel Island located in America. Once I was accepted, and was able to freely roam, I decide to get a job in a factory like work place. even thought the work conditions and wages didnt reach my expectations, I still needed the money to pay my weekly rent on tenements. -
Immigration to the West
Due to the increase of population in the cities, the cities started to become overcrowded. Next thing I know, more than 5.2 million immigrants made their way into America. As the number of people increased, the chances and wages of a job decreased. Due to the quality of jobs in the city, I would be finding a better lifestyle out in the west. In the west, I had an opportunity to receive free land, and a job as a railroad construction worker, or miner. -
Chinese Immigration Act
In 1882, the rest of my family from China wanted to join me, but failed to proceed into America. Apparently, the Chinese Exclusion Act caused my family couldn’t journey into America for ten years, until the act of preventing an excess of cheap labor died out. -

I’m starting to think the west is as dangerous as the cities. -
Anti-Chinese Mobs
After migrating to the west, I somewhat picked up a few friends, either Chinese, or white, on the journey to the west, and in my mining job. I considered them as parts of my family. Like my real family, they were soon gone from my life in the 1886. During the 1886, an anti-Chinese mob located in Seattle, killed and destroyed five parts of the city. At that time, it was major until I found out the two hundred Chinese people rounded up onto ships that would journey out to San Francisco. A few were -
Miner's Strike
After I put my life in the dangers of a mine for years, I decided to take part of a miner strike. In Utah, violence breaks out and miners are constantly being killed. This chaos then lead to an idea by the State and Federal troops, that would lock us miners in an outdoor bullpen. Apparently our “defeat” led to a Western Federation of Miners in Butte, Montana. I’m starting to decide on whether or not I would get a new job
