Immigrating to America
In 1862, I left China because of the low pay in jobs, the Poverty in our country, the Taiping rebellion, and the drought that is going on in China. I came to America for the land, the higher py in jobs, more opportunites for jobs, and freedom of Religion. My family was most affected by the drought, we had a farm and sold all of our crops to make money. My family moved to America and I stayed back for a while until I finally decided to move up there six months after them. -
Getting married
In 1864, I got married to a Russian immigrant. His name was Ezra Ventrska. We met working in the sweat shop together -
Sweatshop Problems
While working in the sweatshop, the lady next to me accidentally got her finger chopped off by the machine. I fainted after seeing that and both my husband and I got fired. -
Needing money
After my husband and I ot fired, we started to run out of money until we ran all the way out. We needed jobs despratly, so we got jobs at a new sweat shop. -
Moving west
my husband and I decided to move west for the Oaklahoma land rush. The reasons we left were overcrowding, racism, and really bad work conditions. We wanted to go to the Oaklahoma land because it was a lot more land for farming, there was more freedom there, and the jobs were better. -
Finding jobs
After we found our land my husband and I went searching for jobs. We got two really good jobs at a nice shop in the middle of a town near by. -
The land Rush
During the land rush, My husband and i fell behind because our luggage fell off the horses. We caught up and got a good piece of land. -
Having a baby
We had a baby girl named Linn Ventrksa. I had to quit my job to take care of the baby but now we grow lots of plants on our property that I take care of.
