    Arriving in New York
I was born in Germany on February 18, 1831, I am arriving in Ellis Island and I am 21. I brought my new born daughter, Ellie and my 23 year old husband, Frank. Frank and I are looking for a job. We are living on the street and are having a neighbor girl babysit Ellie for free while my husband and I are away. With the neighbor girl babysitting Ellie, we don't have to buy baby food or anything because the neighbor girl has a baby brother and has everything to take care of Ellie.

    Found a Job
When we came to the United States I found a job almost immediately, the only thing was my boss was very mean. I clean his house everyday and make his meals , I even have to make his dog a special dish containing chicken and rice or steak. My boss lets my family and I live at one of his nice houses in return for my hard work. We still must keep the house we live in clean and make our own food. My husband works in a meat factory so his money buys us some food.

    Saving up Money
I am still trying to save up enough money to move out. My boss gave me a black eye the other day and pulled a knife on me. I told my husband that I slipped and fell while I was mopping the floors and hit my head on their dinner table. Ellie is now 10 and witnessed my boss slap me across the face last week. I told her that mommy was okay and that she mustn't tell anyone about what she saw.

It has one floor and only has two rooms and one bathroom. Our living room, dining room, and kitchen is one room. We figured we won't mind it since there is three of us and we get along well. Ellie is quite excited. She is now 13 and is working on a old man's farm. I am now working in the Triangle Shirt Factory. Our family has been consuming less food to

    Triangle Shirt Factory Fire
Earlier today their was a fire at my work. My friend Sue has died. I worked on the third floor, Sue was on the fourth. People came from the elevator onto my floor telling us that their was a fire. I quickly hopped in the elevator and waited for what it felt like 5 hours to get to save territory. Now that I lost that job I am going to help my daughter with working on that old man's farm. He pays better too so maybe this change can help me. Our home is great. Even though
