Chang Hegira April, 25, 1850 I was born in China. My life was very hard as a child. We did not have a lot of money. I had to start working when I was 7 years old because we did not have money to eat food or to have a house to live in. we lived on the streets for about 1 1/2 years. My dad had died because he went to America and wanted to send food and money back but they did not let him because he was a different color so they killed him. when back to china then moved back to america
I tried to make things better for my family. When I moved to America but things got worse. My mother had died because she did not have a lot of food or water and she died of starvation. So I had to move back to china and take care of my 3 brothers and 2 sisters. After 3 years we all moved to America and found a home and lived there. It was April 14 1870 we moved back to America. -
took a tour around america
They entered Ellis island on the tour that they took around America. Ellis island was cool Chang said but it took a lot of money for them to take a tour. He wanted to show his brothers and sisters what America was like. A lot of people made mean faces and was pointing at them because they were a different color. It was September 27 1872 when they took the tour. -
my sister became sick
On October 4 1877 the family tore apart. My 3 brother went to live with their girlfriends
Back in china and became poor and ask me to help them but at that time my littlest sister Got very sick so I could not do anything for my brother. Then they asked to live with us and we did not have enough room so I had to say no. then my little sister passed away and we were all very sad my youngust brother then came to live with us then and my other two brothers left and we did not know where they went
